Our beloved babycocoon is now available as a PDF sewing pattern. Sew your own designer babynest: it’s failproof with this illustrated pattern! Your baby will be wonderfully cosy in this beautiful and sturdy homemade cocoon. You’ll create a soft and familiar place for a nap where ever you are; on the sofa, on a table or even on the rug.
Our manual was tested by many sewists, including many beginners. Every step is clearly explained with a schematic drawing. Plus you can always reach out to us directly with any questions!
Why is this cocoon different from other sewing patterns for baby cocoons? Most sewing patterns for DIY baby cocoons have soft stuffing in place of a mattress. Our pattern takes the use of a real foam mattress into account. This means the end result is just as comfortable and secure for your baby as a store-brought cocoon.
To sew this nest you need the following supplies:
- Printed fabric: 1 m x 0.6 m
- Plain fabric: 1 m x 0.6 m
- Mattress foam: 60 cm x 25 cm x 3 cm
- Twill tape (2 cm wide): 4.3 m
- Standard sewing supplies (yarn, pins etc.)
Are you struggling to find these supplies, or do you just adore our designer Mamahoela print? Do check out our complete Mamahoela Babynest DIY kit. It contains all the premium materials you need to create a beautiful cocoon.
